Baked Buffalo Chicken Wontons
Creamy, cheesy buffalo chicken makes a flavorful filling for crispy baked wontons. Dip them in ranch or blue cheese for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

I’m always looking for creative ways to use wonton wrappers. I love how they are perfect for parties, and easy to eat since the filling is all wrapped up inside. My family loves having buffalo chicken dip for parties, but serving it in wonton form is now our favorite way to enjoy it!
Ingredients Needed
You’ll need just a few ingredients to make these buffalo chicken wontons.

- Cooked Shredded Chicken- I cooked some chicken breast and shredded it, but a Rotisserie chicken is a quick and easy option too.
- Cream Cheese– Use the block cream cheese.
- Buffalo Sauce- Your favorite buffalo sauce, either mild or hot, depending on your preference.
- Ranch– Use your favorite ranch dressing for flavor, creaminess, and a hint of tang.
- Mozzarella cheese- This adds a cheesy flavor and serves as a binder. You can substitute any shredded melting cheese.
How to Make
In a skillet, add shredded chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch. Turn the heat to medium and continue stirring until the cream cheese is melted and everything is combined. Once it starts bubbling, turn off the heat and add the mozzarella cheese. Stir to combine and taste for seasoning.
Transfer the buffalo chicken mixture to a dish to cool slightly. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Keep the wonton wrappers covered with a kitchen towel to prevent them from drying out.
Grab one wrapper, place about a tablespoon of filling in the middle. Dip your finger in water and run it over the entire edge of the wrapper. Now fold the wonton over into a triangle shape. Press the edges firmly together to ensure they are sealed.

Place the folded wontons in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spray each wonton with oil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven, and flip each wonton over. Spray more oil if needed and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the wontons are golden.
Remove the buffalo chicken wontons and place them on a serving plate. You can use your favorite ranch or blue cheese dressing as a dip. Sliced carrots and celery also make a great addition.

These wontons are best enjoyed right after making them. You can keep them warm in a 200°F oven until you are ready to serve.
While this recipe is for baked buffalo chicken wontons, you can also deep-fry them. I prefer baking, but frying would be a delicious option!
